An asset is any entity within the system that can be used to generate content. For ease of classification, assets are divided into several different groups:
Folder With Index – A folder in which to put web pages and other folders intended for public viewing.
Fluid Page – An individual webpage.
Image or File– May be an image, PDF, Word Document, or other static content/file.
Image or File Folder – A storage folder to contain images and documents (should be placed in _common).
Block – A "pluggable" piece of content that can be easily substituted, with or without styling, into any page region. As the name suggests, these are simple building blocks used in the creation of more complex items, such as pages.
External Link – a symbolic link to a specific URL outside of your website, appearing as a tab in the navigational menu.
Navigation
The navigation for a site is generated automatically based on the structure of a site. This is why it is very important to have an organized site structure. Users can choose to exclude certain items from the navigation if desired. You can do this by excluding a folder or just a page.
It is recommended to have no more than 8 items in your main navigation and only going three levels down. This makes it easier for end users to navigate through your site.
